The 5K Run, Walk & Wag is a community celebration that brings together competitive athletes, casual walkers, and four-legged friends for a fantastic afternoon at The Villages at Coverley in Christ Church, Barbados.
Whether you're pushing for a personal best on the competitive course, enjoying a leisurely stroll, or showing off your dog's best parade strut, this event is for you. All proceeds go directly to Ocean Acres Animal Sanctuary, giving rescued dogs and cats a second chance at life.
Three ways to join: whether you're racing for the podium, walking for the cause, or bringing your dog along for the fun.
For anyone who will run, whether you race the full course, jog part of it, or mix running and walking. If any running or jogging is involved, this is your category. Compete for prizes on a professionally marshalled 5K course. No dogs in this category.

Your four-legged friend must be on a leash at all times throughout the event. This keeps everyone safe and comfortable, for two-legged and four-legged guests alike!
Barbados afternoons can be warm, so keep your pet hydrated! Bring enough fresh water and a portable bowl so they can drink before, during, and after the walk.
Please come prepared with waste bags and clean up after your pet. Let's keep the grounds clean and enjoyable for everyone!

We're looking for course marshals to help guide participants on race day. As a race marshal, you'll be stationed along the course to direct runners, walkers, and waggers safely along the route.
No prior experience needed. Just show up on race day ready to cheer on participants and help keep the course flowing smoothly for everyone.
Race marshals are essential to making the event run smoothly. You'll be directing participants on the course and helping to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for all.

Absolutely! Dogs are warmly welcomed at the 5K Run, Walk & Wag. In fact, they're the stars of the show! Dogs may participate in the Wag category, which is open to dog owners of any pace. Please ensure your dog is on a leash at all times, and bring water and waste bags. There is no extra charge for your pet to join.
There are three categories to choose from:
Competitive Race: for runners who want to race for time and compete for prizes. Open to all ages — under 18s are welcome and eligible to place. Professional timing, race bibs, and prize eligibility. No dogs permitted.
Walk: for those who will walk the entire course. Whether you're out for a personal best or simply enjoying the experience, all walkers are welcome. No running, no jogging, and no dogs. Open to all ages. Professional timing, race bibs, and prize eligibility included.
Wag: for dog owners and their four-legged friends! Any pace is welcome — walking, jogging, or running. Leash required at all times. Race bibs and prize eligibility included. No extra charge for your pet.

The event takes place at The Villages at Coverley, Christ Church, Barbados.
Gates open and activities begin at 3:30 PM. The Competitive Race starts at 4:30 PM, followed by the Walk & Wag categories together at 4:35 PM. Prize giving is estimated for around 5:30 PM. The event closes at 6:00 PM.
There's fun for the whole family! We have a Jumping Tent for the kids, Smiley's Sno Cones to cool off, and exciting prizes and giveaways throughout the afternoon. It's a full festival atmosphere alongside the race!

Yes. Vehicular access to The Villages at Coverley will be closed between 3:30 PM and 5:30 PM on event day to ensure the safety of all participants on the course. We recommend arriving before 3:30 PM to avoid any inconvenience. Alternative access and parking information will be communicated closer to the event.
We're looking for course marshals to help direct participants on race day. No experience needed. Fill in our volunteer sign-up form and we'll be in touch with further details. Volunteers receive an official T-shirt and refreshments on the day.
